Americrawl extended the discharge line of Williams's existing sump pump by an additional 10 feet.
Mooresville, IN
March 28, 2025
**Inspection & Diagnosis** Inspector / Design Specialist Tyler proposed the following products and services to help the homeowners; • 130' of perimeter drainage (AkwaGard) along the base of the foundation walls to capture water • 99' of CleanSpace wall • Demo and removal of concrete and wall material • SuperSump sump pump system, complete with battery back-up • Discharge lines, ensuring the water is pumped out and away from the home 15’. • 35 Feet of Disharge line extension • Americrawls Crack Seal **Installation & Repair** Crew Foreman Celeo and his team arrived on the scheduled day for their project. Before beginning the work, they conducted one final walkthrough with the homeowner to ensure they were aligned with the homeowner's goals for protecting the house. The project involved installing a partial waterproofing system along the perimeter of the foundation and basement. The first step was to jackhammer and remove all the concrete at the base of the walls to create space for the drainage system. Since the homeowners still had some possessions stored in the basement, the crew covered these items with plastic to keep them clean. The jackhammering process generates a lot of dust and noise, but it is a necessary step to ensure the proper installation of the drainage tiles. After completing the demolition, the team began laying out the AkwaGard drainage system around the perimeter. In total, they installed 130 feet of drainage, ensuring that any water entering the basement through the foundation walls would be captured and directed toward the sump pump basin. During this process, CleanSpace Walls and Crack Seal were also installed. Once the drainage system was in place, and the Super Sump basin was set, the AkwaGard tiles were tested with water to confirm that it flowed properly toward the sump pump basin. It is essential to test each system before finalizing the installation by pouring concrete over the components. Following a successful test, the crew mixed and poured concrete over the AkwaGard drainage system, which was positioned within crushed stone to allow for proper flow and drainage. The basin for the water and pump was also cast in concrete. The installed SuperSump sump pump system included a 1/3 HP cast iron pump. Additionally, the WaterWatch alarm system is battery-powered and alerts the homeowner if water approaches the surface of the basin due to any system failure. The lid of the water pump basin is airtight, which is crucial if the homeowner has or ever needs to install a radon mitigation system. An airtight seal prevents unwanted air or moisture from escaping the basin. **Results & Customer Satisfaction** They were completely satisfied with the through proposal and expertly installed system, and were able to continue with their remodel plans and finishing their basement. **Team Members Involved** Inspector Tyler Crew Foreman Celeo

One of the key solutions we provide is the installation of a sump pump with a discharge line in the crawlspace to effectively manage groundwater and moisture. This system involves placing the sump pump in a low point of the crawlspace where water tends to accumulate. As water collects, the pump activates and pushes it through a discharge line, directing it safely away from the home's foundation. This setup helps prevent standing water, mold growth, and structural damage caused by excess moisture. It's a critical part of protecting the crawlspace and ensuring a healthier, more stable home environment.

To resolve the homeowner’s wet basement problems, Americrawl delivered a complete and customized basement waterproofing system using industry-leading solutions designed to ensure long-term protection, reliability, and indoor air quality. The project began with the installation of 12 feet of AkwaGard Basement Drainage tying it into their existing drainage system, a key component in managing hydrostatic pressure and channeling water away from the foundation. This system captures groundwater before it can rise and cause damage, effectively reducing the risk of seepage and flooding along the basement perimeter. Complementing the drainage system, Americrawl installed the AmeriSump sump pump system, which provides high-performance water evacuation to keep the basement dry even during heavy rain or high water table conditions. The AmeriSump system was connected to a 25-foot discharge line, directing water safely away from the home’s foundation to prevent reentry or pooling near the structure. To enhance wall protection and control moisture infiltration, CleanSpace Basement Wall was applied to the interior surface. This heavy-duty vapor barrier not only improves the basement's appearance but also helps block water vapor and direct any wall seepage into the drainage system. For added peace of mind, especially during power outages, the UltraSump battery backup system was included. This secondary pump activates automatically when the primary system loses power, ensuring uninterrupted water removal when it’s needed most. Homeowners can trust that their basement remains protected 24/7, even in severe weather. To complete the waterproofing system and address air quality, Americrawl installed the Sedona dehumidifier. Engineered for basements and crawl spaces, the Sedona efficiently removes excess moisture from the air, preventing musty odors, reducing allergens, and promoting a healthier living environment. It operates quietly and effectively, helping to maintain proper humidity levels year-round. Americrawl’s integrated approach to basement waterproofing ensures that all aspects of moisture management—collection, removal, vapor control, and air quality—are addressed in one cohesive system. Backed by years of experience and trusted service across Indiana, these solutions represent Americrawl’s commitment to protecting homes from water damage and enhancing the value, comfort, and safety of the property. Whether dealing with occasional seepage or chronic water problems, this comprehensive repair package delivers reliable results homeowners can depend on.

Upon inspection, Americrawl's Inspector / Design Specialist Tyler identified excessive moisture accumulation due to inadequate drainage. The presence of mold indicated prolonged damp conditions, compromising the home's structural integrity and indoor air quality. To address these issues, a tailored plan was devised, focusing on effective drainage, moisture control, and mold treatment. The first step involved installing the AmeriDrain system, specifically designed to manage water intrusion in crawl spaces. This perimeter drainage solution efficiently captures and redirects water away from the foundation, preventing pooling and reducing humidity levels. By mitigating water accumulation, AmeriDrain plays a crucial role in preserving the crawl space environment and protecting the home's foundation. To complement the drainage system, the AmeriSump sump pump was installed, featuring a 15-foot discharge line to ensure water is expelled safely away from the home's perimeter, thereby offering peace of mind during heavy rainfall or flooding events. Addressing the mold issue, Americrawl applied Timbor spray, a borate-based wood preservative that protects against mold and mildew. This eco-friendly treatment penetrates deeply into the wood, offering long-term protection without compromising indoor air quality. This project exemplifies Americrawl's expertise in crawl space repair and moisture control. By integrating the AmeriDrain system, AmeriSump pump, and Timbor spray, they delivered a comprehensive solution that addressed the root causes of the homeowner's concerns. For residents in Indianapolis and Central Indiana facing similar issues, Americrawl offers reliable, effective services to ensure a healthy and structurally sound home environment.

**Inspection Process & Findings** Tyler, one of our experienced inspectors, was assigned to the property. He contacted the homeowner approximately 30 minutes prior to the scheduled appointment to confirm the time, review the reported concerns, and ensure access would be available upon arrival. Upon arriving at the property, Tyler was greeted by the homeowner, who provided an overview of the issues previously cited by the home inspector and directed him to the crawl space access point. Once inside the crawl space, Tyler conducted a comprehensive inspection, carefully evaluating the structural elements, environmental conditions, and overall integrity of the area. During his assessment, Tyler identified significant termite damage in the vicinity of the center beam and furnace area. The damage had compromised the strength and stability of the affected floor joists, raising concerns about long-term structural performance. It was also noted that the original builder had failed to properly box in the framing near the furnace, creating further complications. In addition to the structural concerns, there were signs of excess moisture accumulation, which is common in poorly ventilated or unsealed crawl spaces. Following his inspection, Tyler discussed his findings in detail with the homeowner and provided a comprehensive foundation repair cost, including both structural reinforcement and moisture management recommendations. **Repair & Installation** Shortly after the inspection and approval of the foundation repair cost, Crew Foreman Brian was dispatched to the residence to carry out the necessary repairs. Upon arrival, Brian introduced himself to the customer, walked them through the scope of work, and ensured all questions were addressed before beginning the installation process. **The repairs included* Structural Reinforcement: Brian and his crew installed seven (7) new floor joists along with a 4-inch steel I-beam and SmartJacks directly beneath the furnace area. This beam provided critical support where the previous structure had been weakened due to termite damage and poor initial construction. The reinforcement restored integrity and evenness to the floor, ensuring it would pass home inspection standards. Moisture Control: To address the high humidity and reduce the risk of future water damage, the crew installed a 6-mil polyethylene vapor barrier across the entire crawl space floor. This durable material helps prevent ground moisture from entering the crawl space, which in turn contributes to improved indoor air quality and energy efficiency. The installation was completed efficiently and professionally, with all components securely installed and thoroughly tested to ensure long-term effectiveness. **Outcome & Customer Satisfaction** The customer expressed high satisfaction with the work performed by the Americrawl team. The structural repairs not only resolved the concerns raised by the home inspector but also gave the homeowner peace of mind knowing the home’s foundation was secure. As a result, the home passed its follow-up inspection with no further issues, allowing the real estate transaction to proceed without delay. In the end, both the seller and the prospective buyer were pleased with the outcome. The new homeowner was especially appreciative of the reinforced flooring system and the professional handling of the situation by the Americrawl staff. **Team Members Involved** Inspector: Tyler Crew Foreman: Brian Business Office Manager: Teresa **Products & Materials Used** Structural Wood Components 4” Steel I-Beam 6-mil Polyethylene Vapor Barrier
