**Inspection & Diagnosis** Our lead inspector, Daniel, contacted the customer 30 minutes prior to the home inspection to discuss the issues that needed to be addressed for the home to pass the inspection. When Daniel arrived at the property, the customer had expressed their concerns and showed him access to the crawl space. Daniel then entered the crawl space to conduct his inspection. While in the space, he noticed that there was no sump pump or sump station to manage the pockets of water present. After thoroughly examining the area, Daniel provided an estimate for the necessary work. The estimate included the installation of an AmeriSump sump pump station, a clean-out, and a 6-mil poly vapor barrier. **Installation & Repair** When they arrived, Crew Foreman Celeo and his team greeted the customer and explained that they would be installing an AmeriSystem sump pump along with a discharge line. This involved digging a hole that was 22 inches deep and 20 inches wide for the sump pump liner. After installing the sump pump, it would be connected to a 15-foot discharge line that would be buried in her yard. Once the sump pump was in place, the crew cleaned up any debris and leveled the crawlspace. Celeo and his team also installed a 6-mil poly vapor barrier across the entire floor of the crawlspace to cover the soil. **Results & Customer Satisfaction** The customer was pleased to resolve the issues noted by her home inspector. **Team Members Involved** Inspector Daniel Crew Foreman Celeo

The scope of work includes the installation of one durable steel crawlspace access door to provide secure and long-lasting entry to the crawlspace area. In addition, a 30-foot steel I-beam is installed beneath the home to provide substantial structural support. The I-beam is carefully set in place and supported by eight SmartJacks, which are properly spaced and anchored to ensure even load distribution. These SmartJacks are adjusted as needed to stabilize and reinforce the existing floor joist system, reducing sagging and deflection while restoring proper support to the floor structure. This system enhances the overall structural integrity of the home and provides a reliable, long-term solution for floor stabilization.

The installation team completed the installation of 294 square feet of the CleanSpace® crawlspace encapsulation system to help isolate the crawlspace from ground moisture and reduce humidity levels beneath the home. The reinforced vapor barrier was carefully installed and sealed along the crawlspace floor to create a continuous moisture barrier, helping protect structural components and improve the overall crawlspace environment. In addition, 390 square feet of plastic-enclosed insulation was installed to enhance thermal efficiency and help regulate temperatures within the crawlspace. This insulated system helps protect the home from cold air infiltration while also preventing moisture from contacting the insulation material. Together, these upgrades contribute to improved moisture control, energy efficiency, and a healthier crawlspace environment.

The project began with the installation of an UltraSump® battery backup system to ensure uninterrupted sump pump operation during power outages. This backup pump provides peace of mind by keeping water out of the crawl space even during severe storms. To further control humidity, a Sedona dehumidifier known for its energy efficiency and ability to maintain humidity levels in large crawl spaces was installed. This unit works continuously to reduce moisture, preventing mold growth and improving indoor air quality. For improved access and protection, Americrawl replaced the old crawl space entry with a new access door. This upgrade helps keep out pests, debris, and outside air while making inspections and maintenance much easier. Finally, the entire crawl space was treated with Tim-bor®, a borate-based solution that helps protect wood components from mold, mildew, and wood-destroying insects. This preventative step ensures the long-term health of the home’s structural elements.

The installation team completed the installation of 52 linear feet of the AkwaGuard basement interior drainage system along the foundation perimeter to effectively intercept groundwater intrusion and relieve hydrostatic pressure before water can enter the basement. The system was installed at the footing level to ensure consistent water collection and proper flow toward the sump location. To manage the collected water, one AmeriSump sump station was installed to efficiently pump and discharge water away from the home through a dedicated exterior discharge line. Together, these components provide a reliable waterproofing solution that helps maintain a dry, protected basement environment and reduces the risk of water intrusion.

For this project, our team installed 168 linear feet of AmeriDrain drainage system, strategically placed around the crawl space perimeter to effectively manage groundwater and prevent future moisture issues. To complement this system, we installed one AmeriSump sump station, ensuring reliable water collection and discharge for optimal drainage performance. Additionally, we installed a durable steel crawl space access door, providing secure and long-lasting entry for future inspections or maintenance. To further enhance moisture control and protect structural integrity, the crawl space was encapsulated with 1,200 square feet of 6-mil vapor barrier. This barrier creates a continuous moisture shield, preventing ground humidity from affecting the home. For added protection against wood decay and insect damage, we applied 1,200 square feet of Timbor treatment across all exposed wood surfaces. This step ensures long-term durability of joists, sill plates, and beams, reducing the risk of structural compromise.

Americrawl completed a structural reinforcement project that included the installation of 20 feet of new sill plate and a 15-foot steel I-beam set on a poured concrete footing. The existing sill plate had suffered from wood decay and loss of structural support due to prolonged moisture exposure. Our team carefully removed the damaged section and replaced it with new treated lumber to restore the proper load-bearing capacity of the foundation wall. To further stabilize the floor structure, a 15-foot steel I-beam was installed beneath the affected area. The beam was securely set on a new concrete footing, providing a strong, permanent base for the structure above.
