Americrawl installed an underground downspout extenstion in Indianapolis, Indiana, directing roof water away from the foundation.

April 06, 2018 | Indianapolis, IN

The installation team completed the installation of 124 linear feet of AmeriDrain interior crawlspace drainage system along the foundation perimeter to effectively intercept groundwater intrusion and relieve hydrostatic pressure at the footing level. The system was carefully positioned to ensure consistent water collection and proper flow toward the sump location. To manage the collected water, one SuperSump sump station was installed to efficiently pump and discharge water away from the home through a dedicated exterior discharge line. The project also included a full crawlspace cleanout, removing debris and organic materials to create a clean, serviceable environment and improve overall system performance.

This project involves the installation of a 40-foot steel I-beam in the crawl space to correct floor sagging and enhance the overall structural stability of the home. The beam will be supported by eight (8) SmartJacks, each set on properly sized concrete footings to ensure a stable, long-lasting foundation. Work includes preparation of the crawl space, excavation and pouring of new footings, precise placement of support hardware, and controlled lifting of the existing floor system to restore level conditions. The process begins with creating safe access and clearing the installation path beneath the home. Concrete footings will then be installed to support each SmartJack, ensuring they can bear the intended structural load. Once footings have cured, the 40-ft steel I-beam will be maneuvered into the crawl space—either as a single piece or in sections to be spliced on-site—and positioned directly beneath the floor joists or existing girder line. Eight SmartJacks will be aligned along the beam and adjusted incrementally to raise the floor system. Lifts will be performed slowly and evenly to prevent stress or damage to framing, finishes, or mechanical systems. After the floor is brought back to a level and stable position, the SmartJacks will be locked in place to provide permanent support.

As part of this basement waterproofing upgrade, we installed a state-of-the-art UltraSump Battery Backup System. This system is designed to provide reliable protection against flooding during power outages, ensuring the sump pump continues operating even when electricity is lost. The UltraSump offers extended runtime, high pumping capacity, and automatic charging for maximum peace of mind.

This customer completed the project in two phases to fully address basement water management and moisture control. During the initial phase, our expert crew installed approximately 140 linear feet of AkwaGuard drainage system to collect and redirect groundwater along the basement perimeter. The system was tied into one AmeriSump sump pump station to provide reliable water removal, along with a 35-foot discharge line to safely carry water away from the foundation. Approximately one month later, the customer requested an additional phase of work, during which 140 linear feet of CleanSpace wall covering was installed along the basement walls. The CleanSpace wall system helps manage wall moisture by directing seepage into the drainage system while improving overall basement cleanliness, durability, and long-term moisture control.

Americrawl installed the AmeriDrain® interior drainage system to capture groundwater and direct it to the SuperSump® pump station for reliable removal. The CleanSpace® encapsulation system was applied across the crawl space floor and walls to create a durable moisture barrier, while a Sedona® dehumidifier was added to maintain healthy humidity levels year-round. Our team also replaced the compromised center beam, restoring the structural integrity of the home. All affected wood surfaces were treated with a professional mold remover to eliminate existing growth and prevent recurrence.

We installed a professional dehumidification system to reduce moisture levels, improve air quality, and protect the home from mold and water damage.

Americrawl completed a foundation stabilization project that involved the installation of six wall anchors on a bowing basement wall. Over time, hydrostatic pressure and soil movement can cause basement walls to shift inward, leading to structural instability. To correct and stabilize this issue, our team strategically installed six heavy-duty wall anchors along the affected wall. These anchors were embedded into stable soil outside the foundation and connected to interior wall plates, allowing controlled tensioning to gradually restore wall alignment and prevent further movement.

This project involves installing a complete interior basement drainage and moisture-control system to manage groundwater intrusion and protect the foundation. The scope of work includes the installation of 57 linear feet of AkwaGuard interior basement drainage system along the affected perimeter. This system is designed to capture seepage at the cove joint and channel water efficiently to the sump station, preventing basement floor and wall moisture issues. A SuperSump sump station will be installed as the primary water-management unit. The system includes a high-capacity pump, airtight lid, and liner, providing reliable water removal and improved basement dryness. To address wall moisture and direct any seepage into the drainage system, 57 linear feet of CleanSpace Wall liner will be installed on the interior basement walls. This durable vapor barrier helps prevent moisture transmission, reflects light for a brighter basement, and works in tandem with the drainage system to guide water downward into the AkwaGuard channel.

Our expert crew performed a complete crawlspace remediation and waterproofing project to restore structural protection and long-term moisture control. The project began with a full crawlspace cleanout, removing debris and organic materials to prepare the area for system installation and improve overall site conditions. To address groundwater intrusion, 190 linear feet of the AmeriDrain® interior drainage system was installed along the crawlspace perimeter at the footing level to intercept seepage and relieve hydrostatic pressure. The drainage system was routed to one SuperSump® sump station, engineered to efficiently collect and discharge water away from the home through a dedicated discharge line, providing dependable and high-capacity performance. For comprehensive moisture protection, 1,600 square feet of the CleanSpace® encapsulation system was installed across the crawlspace floor and sealed along foundation walls and penetrations to create a continuous vapor barrier. In conjunction with encapsulation, 1,600 square feet of Timbor® wood treatment spray was applied to exposed framing members to inhibit mold growth and protect against fungal decay. Together, these improvements provide structural safeguarding, enhanced water management, and a cleaner, drier, and healthier crawlspace environment designed for long-term performance.
