One of the key solutions we provide is the installation of a sump pump with a discharge line in the crawlspace to effectively manage groundwater and moisture. This system involves placing the sump pump in a low point of the crawlspace where water tends to accumulate. As water collects, the pump activates and pushes it through a discharge line, directing it safely away from the home's foundation. This setup helps prevent standing water, mold growth, and structural damage caused by excess moisture. It's a critical part of protecting the crawlspace and ensuring a healthier, more stable home environment.

Americrawl repaired Sister Joists, Sill Plate, Rim Joist with Plate and place Sub Floor Support.

April 13, 2023 | Muncie, IN

The installation team completed structural framing repairs to restore strength and stability to the affected area of the home. The work included replacement of 16 linear feet of damaged sill plate to reestablish a solid connection between the framing system and the foundation. In addition, twelve (12) sister joists were installed alongside the existing floor joists to reinforce weakened framing members and improve overall load distribution throughout the floor system. Each sister joist was properly aligned and secured to provide additional structural support and reduce floor deflection. Together, these repairs enhance the integrity and long-term performance of the floor framing system.

Americrawl recently completed a basement waterproofing project featuring a partial basement drainage system and a SuperSump® sump pump. The homeowner was experiencing water intrusion along a couple walls, creating moisture concerns and a musty odor. Our team installed a reliable partial basement drainage solution designed to capture and channel water directly into the SuperSump® system. With Americrawl’s proven basement waterproofing services, this customer gained long-lasting protection against water damage, improved indoor air quality, and peace of mind knowing their foundation is safeguarded.

The installation team completed a combination of crawlspace moisture-control and structural repair improvements to enhance the long-term stability and condition of the home. The project included the installation of one AmeriSump sump station to efficiently collect and discharge groundwater away from the foundation, helping maintain a drier crawlspace environment. To further control moisture and humidity, 1,120 square feet of 6-mil vapor barrier was installed across the crawlspace floor to reduce ground moisture migration and help protect the space from excess humidity. Timbor mold treatment spray was also applied to exposed wood framing members to inhibit mold growth and help protect against fungal decay. Structural repairs included replacement of 8 linear feet of center beam to restore proper load-bearing support beneath the floor system, along with the replacement or reinforcement of four full-length floor joists to improve structural integrity and load distribution. Together, these upgrades provide improved moisture management, enhanced structural stability, and long-term protection for the crawlspace and supporting framework.

Americrawl corrected the standing water in the basement, we installed the AkwaGuard® basement drainage system, which channels water to the sump pump for quick removal. For structural reinforcement, wall anchors were installed along the bowing basement wall to stop further movement and gradually restore it toward its original position. In the crawl space, Dyna® Push Piers were driven deep into stable soil to lift and permanently stabilize the settling foundation.

The installation team completed a comprehensive crawlspace waterproofing and moisture-control project designed to protect the home from groundwater intrusion, excess humidity, and mold-related concerns. The work included the installation of 215 linear feet of AmeriDrain interior crawlspace drainage system along the foundation perimeter to intercept groundwater seepage and relieve hydrostatic pressure at the footing level. The drainage system was carefully installed to provide continuous water collection and direct flow toward one AmeriSump sump station, which was installed to efficiently collect and discharge water away from the home through a dedicated exterior discharge line. To further control moisture conditions beneath the home, a reinforced vapor barrier was installed across the crawlspace floor and sealed around foundation surfaces and penetrations to create a continuous moisture barrier. This system helps prevent ground moisture from migrating into the crawlspace environment, reducing humidity levels and protecting structural components from moisture-related deterioration. In addition, Timbor wood treatment spray was applied to exposed framing members and structural wood surfaces throughout the crawlspace. This borate-based treatment helps inhibit mold growth, protect against fungal decay, and improve the overall condition of the crawlspace. Together, these integrated systems provide long-term moisture management, mold prevention, and enhanced protection for the home's foundation and structural framing.

For this crawl space restoration project, we began by performing a full fiberglass insulation removal, ensuring that all old, deteriorated, and moisture-affected insulation was completely cleared out. This step is critical to eliminating potential mold growth and improving the overall air quality in the home. Next, we addressed the structural integrity of the crawl space by replacing 66 feet of damaged sill plate with new, pressure-treated material, restoring the essential support along the perimeter of the structure. In addition, we installed 21 sister joists to reinforce weakened floor joists, providing extra stability and load-bearing capacity. To further strengthen the framework, we installed 24 box header caps, which help support the ends of the joists and maintain proper alignment. To protect the crawl space from future moisture issues, we installed 1,100 square feet of a 6-mil vapor barrier across the entire ground surface. This vapor barrier helps reduce humidity, prevents ground moisture from entering the crawl space, and creates a cleaner, healthier environment. We also applied Timbor spray treatment to all exposed wood components, providing long-term protection against wood-destroying insects, mold, and fungal decay.

Our expert crew transformed the crawlspace by installing 142 linear feet of the AmeriDrain interior drainage system, strategically designed to capture groundwater and direct it into the homeowner's existing sump stations for efficient water removal. This drainage solution helps reduce standing water, relieves hydrostatic pressure beneath the crawlspace, and creates a drier, healthier environment while working seamlessly with the home's existing drainage infrastructure. To further improve the crawlspace, our team installed a new steel crawlspace access door, providing a durable, secure, and weather-resistant entry point that helps keep out moisture, pests, and outside air. We then treated 1,150 square feet of exposed wood surfaces with Timbor a professional borate-based wood preservative that protects against mold, mildew, wood-decaying fungi, and wood-destroying insects. To complete the moisture control system, our crew installed 1,150 square feet of 6-mil black polyethylene vapor barrier across the crawlspace floor. The vapor barrier helps minimize ground moisture evaporation, reduces humidity levels, and improves the overall performance of the drainage system by creating a cleaner, drier crawlspace. Together, these improvements provide long-term protection against excess moisture, mold growth, and structural deterioration while enhancing the health and longevity of the home's crawlspace.
