This customer reached out to Americrawl seeking a permanent solution to ongoing moisture issues and poor ventilation in their crawl space. After a thorough inspection, it was determined that a comprehensive drainage system was necessary to manage groundwater intrusion and improve the overall condition of the space.

The project included the installation of a full perimeter drainage system designed to collect and direct water to a newly installed AmeriSump® sump pump station, a high-performance solution known for its reliability and efficiency in removing water from below-grade spaces. The AmeriSump® system ensures that any groundwater collected through the drainage channels is quickly and safely pumped away from the home’s foundation, preventing pooling or structural damage.

To further improve crawl space conditions, all crawl space vents were replaced. These new vent covers were installed to better seal the space and control airflow, reducing humidity infiltration and helping to maintain a more consistent internal environment. Proper vent replacement is key in keeping outside moisture and pests from entering the crawl space.

In addition to the drainage improvements and vent upgrades, a 6 mil vapor barrier was installed across the crawl space floor. The vapor barrier serves to block ground moisture from evaporating into the air, which significantly helps in reducing overall humidity in the crawl space.

The installation team completed a comprehensive crawlspace structural repair and moisture-management project designed to improve the long-term stability and condition of the home. The work included installation of 136 linear feet of AmeriDrain interior crawlspace drainage system along the foundation perimeter to intercept groundwater intrusion and help relieve hydrostatic pressure at the footing level. The project also included installation of one new steel crawlspace access door to improve durability, security, and protection at the entry point. To enhance thermal performance beneath the home, 1,624 square feet of fiberglass insulation was installed within the floor joist cavities to improve energy efficiency and help regulate temperatures. Extensive structural wood repairs were performed throughout the crawlspace, including replacement of 56 linear feet of rim joist, 116 linear feet of sill plate, and 10 linear feet of center beam to restore proper load-bearing support. In addition, 62 full-length floor joists were repaired or replaced to reinforce the floor system and improve overall structural integrity. Together, these improvements provide enhanced moisture control, restored structural stability, and improved energy performance throughout the crawlspace.

For this project, our crew completed a full crawl space and structural repair system, ensuring long-term stability and moisture protection. 128 feet of AmeriDrain drainage system was installed to manage groundwater and prevent future flooding. 1 AmeriSump sump station was added to provide reliable water removal. 1,400 square feet of vapor barrier was placed across the crawl space to protect against moisture, mold, and humidity. 34 feet of rim joist and plate were replaced to restore the integrity of the crawl space perimeter. 96 feet of sill plate replacement was completed to reinforce structural support where damage had occurred. 60 full-length joists were replaced, ensuring the floor system above is fully stabilized and supported.

To further protect the space, we encapsulated the area with 1,700 square feet of durable vapor barrier, helps prevents humidity, mold, and structural damage. For improved airflow and ventilation, we also installed eight new crawl space vent replacements, enhancing the overall health and efficiency of the crawl space.

After a full inspection, our team identified the need for structural reinforcement, mold treatment, and moisture control to restore the health and safety of the space. The project began with the removal of damaged materials and preparation of the crawl space for structural and environmental remediation. Our team installed a new full-length floor joist to replace a severely compromised joist. This joist was carefully fitted and secured to ensure long-term stability and load support for the floor system above. To address the presence of mold and prevent future growth, we applied a Tim-bor mold treatment spray to all exposed wood surfaces in the crawl space. Tim-bor is a professional-grade borate solution that eliminates surface mold while also serving as a long-lasting protective barrier against fungi and wood-destroying organisms. For moisture control and long-term protection, we installed the CleanSpace encapsulation system. This heavy-duty liner was securely fastened to the crawl space floors and walls, sealing the area from ground moisture and creating a clean, dry, and energy-efficient environment

The installation team completed the installation of 765 square feet of the CleanSpace crawlspace encapsulation system to effectively isolate the area from ground moisture and reduce humidity levels. The reinforced vapor barrier was carefully installed across the crawlspace floor and sealed along foundation walls and penetrations to create a continuous and durable moisture barrier, helping protect structural components and improve the overall crawlspace environment. In addition, a concrete lintel was poured to reinforce and protect the foundation at the affected opening. The lintel was properly formed and installed to ensure adequate load transfer and structural support, helping restore stability and prevent further movement in the area. Together, these improvements provide enhanced moisture control and structural reinforcement for long-term performance.

For this project, our team installed 166 feet of the AmeriDrain drainage system paired with one AmeriSump sump station to provide reliable water management and protect the crawlspace from standing water. To further control moisture and protect the home’s foundation, we placed 1,500 square feet of 6-mil vapor barrier across the crawlspace floor, creating a strong moisture shield. Additionally, we treated all exposed wood with 1,500 square feet of Timbor spray, offering long-term protection against mold, mildew. To enhance peace of mind, we also added a WaterWatch alarm system, ensuring the homeowner is immediately notified in the event of rising water levels. This complete system gives the crawlspace both structural protection and long-term moisture control.

Americrawl performed a complete crawl space cleanout to remove debris, damaged insulation, and any organic material that could contribute to moisture buildup or mold growth. After preparing the area, the team installed 110 feet of AmeriDrain drainage system to efficiently capture and direct groundwater to the new AmeriSump sump station, ensuring the space stays dry during heavy rainfall or seasonal changes. To further protect the area, 500 square feet of CleanSpace encapsulation system was applied, sealing the crawl space from the earth’s moisture and creating a clean, dry, and energy-efficient environment. To maintain optimal humidity levels year-round, a SaniDry dehumidifier was also installed to help control moisture and improve indoor air quality throughout the home.

The property had been experiencing signs of excess humidity, musty odors, and standing water in the crawl space. After a thorough inspection, our team recommended a complete encapsulation paired with a reliable interior drainage solution.

To begin, we installed Americrawls AmeriSystem drainage system along the interior perimeter of the crawl space, directing water to a AmeriSump system. This system helps actively manage groundwater intrusion and prevents standing water buildup. Next, we encapsulated the entire crawl space using a Clean Space 20 Mil liner designed to isolate the crawl space from the earth below. The liner was sealed at all seams and securely fastened to the walls and piers to create a clean, dry, and controlled environment. All vents were sealed off, and insulation was installed where necessary to improve energy efficiency and indoor air quality.
