This repeat customer contacted Americrawl after noticing continued structural issues related to damaged floor framing. Upon inspection, it was determined that several existing floor joists were compromised and required replacement to restore proper structural support. Our team installed eight full-length floor joists to reinforce the subfloor and ensure the home’s stability. Each joist was securely fastened and properly tied into the existing framing system to provide long-term strength and durability.

Americrawl completed a full crawl space improvement project designed to address water intrusion and structural deficiencies. The installation included 138 feet of AmeriDrain drainage system and one AmeriSump sump station to efficiently capture and remove groundwater from the crawl space, preventing future moisture buildup. To further protect the area, 1,289 square feet of vapor barrier was installed, creating a clean, sealed surface that prevents ground moisture from entering the airspace. Additionally, six new crawl space vent replacements were installed to improve airflow and maintain proper ventilation. Structural reinforcement was also performed, including 36 feet of sill plate repair and 26 sistered floor joists, strengthening the floor framing system and restoring stability to the home’s foundation.

Americrawl completed a comprehensive structural repair project to restore stability and integrity to the home’s crawl space framing system. The crew replaced 68 feet of 2x4 sill plate, addressing areas weakened by moisture exposure and age. In addition, 42 2x8 sister joists were installed alongside the existing floor joists to reinforce structural strength and ensure proper floor leveling and support. To complete the repair, 32 feet of rim joist and plate were replaced, sealing and stabilizing the perimeter framing where deterioration had been identified.

Americrawl completed a comprehensive crawl space restoration and structural support project that included the installation of 1,200 square feet of CleanSpace encapsulation system, providing a durable and sealed barrier against ground moisture and humidity. To strengthen the foundation support, our team installed an 18-foot steel I-beam along with four adjustable SmartJack posts to properly level and stabilize the floor structure above. A new steel crawl space access door was also installed to ensure long-term durability and easy entry for future maintenance. Additionally, the crawl space was thoroughly cleaned out, and 1,200 square feet of Timbor Spray was applied to protect all exposed wood framing from mold, mildew, and wood decay.

Because this customer’s basement wall was bowing inward, also referred to as “horizontal deflection”, Americrawl installed ECP Wall Anchor system. This system was engineered to halt any further movement of the wall inward, and, overtime with adjustments, allow the wall to be moved back to it’s original position. This repair is used for basement wall bow-in, leaning basement walls, bulging basement walls, bowing basement walls or basement wall bulge only. If foundation sinking is occurring, other methods of foundation repair may be needed. For a sinking foundation, Americrawl may suggest underpinning with either Earth Contact Products helical piers, Ideal helical piers or DynaPier ram piers, also known as “push piers”. Americrawl was contracted to install a partial AkwaGard interior basement drainage system with a SuperSump sump pump. Along with two LawnScape downspout extensions.

September 23, 1998 | Indianapolis, IN

The installation team completed the installation of 138 linear feet of AmeriDrain interior crawlspace drainage system along the foundation perimeter to effectively intercept groundwater intrusion and relieve hydrostatic pressure at the footing level. The drainage system was carefully positioned to ensure consistent water collection and proper flow toward the sump location, providing reliable moisture management throughout the crawlspace. To manage the collected water, one AmeriSump sump station was installed to efficiently collect and discharge groundwater away from the home through a dedicated exterior discharge line. The sump system was integrated with the drainage network to provide continuous protection against water accumulation beneath the structure. To further control ground moisture and humidity, 1,235 square feet of reinforced vapor barrier was installed across the crawlspace floor and sealed along foundation surfaces and penetrations to create a continuous moisture barrier. This system helps reduce moisture migration from the soil, protect structural components from humidity-related deterioration, and improve the overall crawlspace environment. Together, these improvements provide comprehensive water management and long-term protection for the home's foundation and structural framing.

A full 2,676 square feet of CleanSpace Encapsulation System was installed throughout the crawl space to create a sealed, moisture-controlled environment. The installation included: 20-mil CleanSpace liner applied across all crawl space floors and secured up foundation walls and piers to create a continuous moisture barrier. All seams were sealed with CleanSpace-compatible tape to prevent air intrusion and ensure a fully airtight system. CleanSpace was mechanically fastened to walls and piers using plastic fasteners for long-term durability. The liner was extended around obstacles, corners, and support structures to ensure complete coverage with no exposed soil or gaps. Special attention was given to high-traffic or service areas, where extra reinforcement was added to protect the liner. The encapsulation helps reduce moisture levels, prevent mold growth, improve air quality, and increase overall energy efficiency in the home.

Our expert crew transformed the crawl space by first performing a complete cleanout, removing debris and organic materials to prepare the area for encapsulation. A durable steel crawl space access door was then installed to provide secure, long-lasting access while helping keep out moisture, pests, and outside air. Next, we applied 1,280 square feet of Timbor Spray to all exposed wood framing to help protect against mold, wood-decaying fungi, and wood-destroying insects. To complete the project, our team installed 1,280 square feet of CleanSpace encapsulation liner, creating a continuous moisture barrier across the crawl space floor and foundation walls. This comprehensive system helps reduce humidity, improve indoor air quality, increase energy efficiency, and protect the home's structural components by creating a cleaner, healthier, and drier crawl space environment for years to come.
