Why did the customer contact us?
This homeowner contacted Americrawl to address moisture, air quality, and accessibility issues in their crawl space. After a full inspection, our team recommended a comprehensive approach to not only control humidity and prevent water damage but also protect the structure from future threats.
Solutions provided:
The project began with the installation of an UltraSump® battery backup system to ensure uninterrupted sump pump operation during power outages. This backup pump provides peace of mind by keeping water out of the crawl space even during severe storms.
To further control humidity, a Sedona dehumidifier known for its energy efficiency and ability to maintain humidity levels in large crawl spaces was installed. This unit works continuously to reduce moisture, preventing mold growth and improving indoor air quality.
For improved access and protection, Americrawl replaced the old crawl space entry with a new access door. This upgrade helps keep out pests, debris, and outside air while making inspections and maintenance much easier.
Finally, the entire crawl space was treated with Tim-bor®, a borate-based solution that helps protect wood components from mold, mildew, and wood-destroying insects. This preventative step ensures the long-term health of the home’s structural elements.
