This customer contacted Americrawl seeking a straightforward yet effective moisture control solution for their crawl space. After discussing their concerns and goals, it was determined that the installation of a 6-mil vapor barrier would provide the protection they needed to help manage ground moisture and improve the air quality inside their home.
Upon arrival, our trained crew inspected the crawl space and carefully prepared the area by clearing debris and leveling the ground as needed. The 6-mil polyethylene vapor barrier was then installed across the crawl space floor with precise seams and secure overlaps to ensure maximum ground coverage. The material was properly anchored and fitted around piers and obstacles, creating a consistent barrier between the earth and the underside of the home.
While this was not a full encapsulation system, the 6-mil vapor barrier still plays a vital role in reducing moisture levels, helping to deter mold growth, protect structural components, and improve energy efficiency throughout the home.
