Job completed for Brian B
Completion date: March 17, 2020
Location: Fort Wayne, IN
Solutions provided:
Our expert crew completed a comprehensive crawlspace restoration by replacing 26 linear feet of damaged rim joist and wall plate along with 104 linear feet of deteriorated sill plate. All compromised wood was carefully removed and replaced with new, structurally sound lumber to restore the home's load-bearing support system. These critical structural repairs help provide a stable foundation for the floor framing while protecting the home from continued deterioration caused by moisture, wood decay, or age. After the structural repairs were completed, our team installed 1,332 square feet of 6-mil black polyethylene vapor barrier across the crawlspace floor to help prevent ground moisture from entering the crawlspace environment. This durable vapor barrier reduces humidity levels, minimizes the potential for mold and mildew growth, helps protect the newly installed structural lumber from future moisture damage, and contributes to improved indoor air quality and energy efficiency. Together, the structural wood replacement and moisture control measures provide the homeowner with a stronger, healthier, and better-protected crawlspace for years to come.
