Completion date: March 12, 2008
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Solutions provided:
The installation team completed a comprehensive crawlspace remediation, waterproofing, and encapsulation project designed to provide long-term moisture control and structural protection beneath the home. The project began with a complete crawlspace cleanout, removing debris and organic materials to create a clean, serviceable environment and prepare the space for the installation of the moisture-control systems. To address groundwater intrusion, 138 linear feet of AmeriDrain interior crawlspace drainage system was installed along the foundation perimeter to intercept seepage and relieve hydrostatic pressure at the footing level. The drainage system was routed to one AmeriSump sump station, which was installed to efficiently collect and discharge water away from the home through a dedicated exterior discharge line. For comprehensive moisture protection, 1,134 square feet of the CleanSpace encapsulation system was installed across the crawlspace floor and sealed along foundation walls, piers, and penetrations to create a continuous and durable vapor barrier. One Sedona dehumidifier was installed to actively regulate humidity levels and maintain a dry, conditioned crawlspace environment year-round. In addition, Timbor® wood treatment spray was applied to exposed framing members and structural wood surfaces to inhibit mold growth and help protect against fungal decay. The project was completed with the installation of one Turtle™ crawlspace access door, providing a durable, weather-resistant, and secure entry point while helping maintain the integrity of the encapsulation system. Together, these improvements provide effective groundwater management, humidity control, mold prevention, and long-term protection for the crawlspace and structural components of the home.
