Job completed for James B.
Completion date: March 14, 2016
Location: Rossville, IN
Solutions provided:
Our expert crew installed four (4) helical piers to provide permanent stabilization of the garage slab foundation. Each pier was hydraulically driven through the overburden soils to reach competent, load-bearing strata, with installation torque monitored to verify capacity. Once the target depth and resistance were achieved, engineered brackets were affixed to the slab foundation to ensure proper engagement and effective transfer of structural loads from the slab to the pier system. The piers were aligned, seated, and secured in accordance with manufacturer specifications to create a stable underpinning network designed to mitigate additional settlement.
This underpinning solution bypasses weak or compressible soils and transfers the imposed loads to more suitable bearing material at depth, significantly improving overall foundation performance. The installation provides long-term structural reliability, helps maintain slab elevation, and reduces the likelihood of future movement or cracking in the garage structure.
