Job completed for Betty B.

Completion date: June 25, 2007

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Solutions provided:

This project involves a full crawl space restoration and moisture-control system installation designed to improve drainage, reduce humidity, and protect the home’s structural components.
Work begins with a complete cleanout of the crawl space, removing debris, organic material, and any loose insulation to prepare the area for repairs and moisture-control installation.
A comprehensive drainage solution will be installed, including 176 linear feet of AmeriDrain crawl-space drainage system placed along the interior perimeter to direct groundwater and moisture to a central collection point. This system will be connected to one AmeriSump sump station, equipped to efficiently pump collected water away from the foundation and reduce standing moisture.
Access improvements include the installation of one steel crawl-space access unit, providing a durable and secure entry point for future inspections and maintenance.
To control ground moisture, 1,336 square feet of vapor barrier will be installed across the entire crawl-space floor. Seams and edges will be overlapped and sealed to create a continuous moisture shield.
For wood protection and long-term pest prevention, 1,336 square feet of Tim-bor treatment will be applied to exposed framing and surfaces. This borate-based treatment helps prevent wood decay, mold, and wood-destroying insects.
Structural repairs include 3 feet of rim joist and plate treatment as well as 3 feet of sill plate repair, where deteriorated material will be removed and replaced with new pressure-treated lumber securely tied into the existing framing.
