Ken Swain is occasionally referred to as the "grandfather of crawl spaces." He earned this moniker for his deep concern and acquired expertise surrounding the grave conditions of crawl spaces and basements.
After serving in the U.S. Navy, Ken worked in the Pest Control Operator (PCO) industry. As a PCO, Ken was exposed to hundreds of central Indiana foundations, where he repeatedly encountered desperate homeowners dealing with defective crawl spaces and basements. In 1981, after repairing innumerable homes in the Midwest, Ken felt compelled to educate the public about keeping foundations dry.
Ken joined the Americrawl team in 2001 and brought with him his vast knowledge of crawl space and basement remediation, and his invaluable years of experience. He has a thorough understanding of foundations, waterproofing, encapsulation, and structural repair. Ken has designed effective solutions for thousands of homeowners throughout the Midwest, and now serves as General Manager of Americrawl Midwest.
Ken’s passion and wisdom about crawl spaces and basements has prompted organizations of home inspectors, pest control operators, home builders and community colleges to call on him for training and seminars regarding the proper repair and the proper preventative care of foundations.
Ken is a central Indiana native who now resides in Greenwood, Indiana, with his wife and children.
